I’ve been making a personal website for about ten years now and my plan was to put a blog on that. Seeing as I’ve scrapped the design and rewritten the code to said website a dozen times, I figured a blog would never see the light of day without one of these here free services. So, for all my admirers and detractors, friends, enemies and disciples, I present to you these scriptures – or this bilge, according to your point of view.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been making way through the Wire. For all the hype I’d heard before starting, I was a little skeptical the show would be as great as everyone said. Halfway through the fourth season, I count myself a believer. The quality is consistently excellent. I would say the best Sopranos episodes are better than the best Wire episodes but as a whole the Wire is the better show. Meanwhile my charitable employers are now providing pay for overtime hours to a number of employees (unfortunately, I’m not included). At the same time, these same employees are getting a 15% paycut (fortunately, I’m not included). Here’s one online petition (with surprisingly few signatures – there must be another one out there).
